FLiRT Strain of Coronavirus Detected in Ukraine
3 Cases Reported in July
The Ukrainian Ministry of Health has reported that three cases of the new FLiRT strain of coronavirus were detected in the country in July. Two of the cases were identified in Kyiv, and one was detected in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast.
FLiRT Variant
The FLiRT strain is a subvariant of the Omicron variant of COVID-19. It was first identified in April 2022, and has since been spreading in several countries around the world. The FLiRT strain is characterized by two mutations that make it more transmissible than other variants of Omicron.
